Monroe Library Offering Teens Chance To Make Mother's Day Terrariums MONROE, Conn. -- As part of its Make It at the Library series, the Edith Wheeler Memorial Library is holding a craft event for teens in grades seven through 12 on Tuesday, May 3, from 4 to 5 p.m. The workshop will give participants the chance to make terrariums for Mother’s Day gifts or to keep for their own enjoyment. The library will provide all the materials. Registration is required, and space is limited to 12 people. Officers will conduct two sobriety checkpoints Saturday on Reef Road and Fairfield Beach Road. Fairfield Police Lt. James Perez said the checkpoints have multiple benefits, including making the roads safer by arresting those who operate motor vehicles under the influence of alcohol or drugs, alerting the public that law enforcement takes the issue of DUI seriously and increasing the presence of officers within the community.
