Bridgeport Library Book Sales To Benefit Literacy Volunteers
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- The Friends of the Bridgeport Public Library will host a series of Thursday and Saturday afternoon book sales throughout the month of April to benefit the Literacy Volunteers of Greater Bridgeport.
The sales, which will be held on April 2, 7, 9, 14, 16, 21, 28 and 30, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., will take place at the downtown main library, 925 Broad Street.
A large variety of fiction and nonfiction books for both adults and children will be available, including some in other languages.

Man, Woman Charged With Stealing From Sears In Yorktown
YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. -- Yorktown police have arrested a man and a woman on larceny charges, following an alleged shoplifting incident at a local Sears.
An officer was notified by Sears Loss Prevention personnel that two shoplifters were in custody at the store at 600 Lee Blvd. in Yorktown Heights on Saturday, March 26, at approximately 8:02 p.m., police report.
