Town Of Corltandt Purchases Property From Con Edison
CORTLANDT, N.Y. -- The Town of Cortlandt finalized a deal to purchase 100 acres of land in the hamlet of Verplanck from Consolidated Edison for $2.75 million dollars on Tuesday, according to Town Supervisor Linda Puglisi. The deal comes a year after the Town Board’s unanimous vote to make the acquisition. The stretch of land, which is adjacent to the Hudson River, is already the location of a sports field and a small beach area. Ramapo Road Resurfacing Begins Monday
RAMAPO, N.Y. -- The Rockland County Highway Department will be resurfacing McNamara Road in Ramapo from New Hempstead Road to East Willow Tree Road on or about the week of July 11, weather permitting. Orangetown Police Charge Motorist With Multiple Offenses
ORANGETOWN, N.Y. -- Orangetown police have arrested a resident of Haverstraw on multiple traffic and motor vehicle offenses following an incident in Blauvelt. The arrest came about after a motor vehicle stop for illegally-tinted windows, according to officials. During the stop, the investigating officer found that the suspect, identified as Luis Fermin-Urena, was operating the vehicle with a suspended registration, without insurance and without a valid New York State driver’s license, police report. GREENBURGH, N.Y. -- New York State Police from the Hawthorne barracks are investigating a four-car personal injury auto collision that took place on the Sprain Brook Parkway in Greenburgh Wednesday night. Greenwich Road To Be Closed Four Months For Bridge Construction Project
GREENWICH, Conn. -- Construction will begin on the Brookridge Drive Bridge superstructure replacement project on Monday, July 11. The bridge is located on Brookridge Drive between Fairfield Road and Route 1. As part of the construction work, the road is scheduled to be closed at the bridge site from July 11 through November.
