Yorktown Man Stole, Forged Family Members' Checks, Say Police
YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. -- Yorktown police have arrested a 31-year-old resident of Yorktown Heights on larceny and forgery charges stemming from a case that began more than a month ago, authorities said.
During the incident, originally reported June 28, an officer was dispatched to investigate the report of a number of checks that had been stolen and cashed in the amount of $400, according to officials.
The case was later assigned to the Detective Bureau, police said.

'Career Coach' To Make Another Stop In Norwalk
NORWALK, Conn. -- The American Job Center Southwest’s "Career Coach" will return to the Norwalk Public Library on Monday, Aug. 8, from 10 a.m. to noon, and 1 to 3 p.m.The vehicle, staffed by AJC personnel, will be parked outside the main library entrance at the corner of Belden and Mott avenues.
The AJC staffers will provide local job-seekers with free assistance, including job searches, resume writing and online applications.
The vehicle, which travels to towns across southwestern Connecticut each month, is scheduled to be at the library again on Monday, Sept. 12.
