Two $1M Powerball Tickets Sold Miles Apart In Fitchburg, Leominster Two lucky lottery players in central Massachusetts are each $1 million richer after scoring big in the Powerball drawing held Wednesday, July 9. And the winners might even be neighbors. One winning ticket was sold at a Market Basket at 130 Water St. in Fitchburg. The other was sold at Country Farms at 689 North Main St. in Leominster. CT Man, 33, Killed In Late-Night Bike Crash With Elderly Driver On Route 209 Police are investigating what led to a deadly bicycle-versus-car crash that left a 33-year-old man dead on Wednesday night, July 9. Trevor McManus, a Derby resident, was riding a bicycle along Route 209 in Litchfield at around 9:50 p.m. when he was involved in a collision with a Toyota Yaris, according to Connecticut State Police. Paramedics transported McManus to a nearby hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. The 83-year-old driver of the car was not injured, police said. 2 State Troopers Injured, I-91N Closed After Multiple Vehicle Crash In Enfield A serious multi-vehicle crash shut down a stretch of Interstate 91 northbound Thursday morning, July 10, leaving two state troopers and several others injured and causing traffic backups for miles. The crash happened during the busy morning commute near Exit 47W in Enfield. Police ID North Haven Teen Motorcyclist Killed In Wallingford Crash A 19-year-old man from Connecticut has been identified as the motorcyclist who died in a collision with an SUV, authorities said. Aidan Russell, of North Haven, was riding a Suzuki SV650 on Tuesday, July 8, when it collided with a Lexus on South Colony Road near the Interstate 91 entrance in Wallingford, according to police. Russell died at the scene from his injuries, despite emergency crews performing life-saving measures, Wallingford police said. Man Wanted In Waterbury Murder Arrested Following Florida Traffic Stop; 2 Men Remain On Run Florida police have arrested a man wanted in a 2018 Connecticut murder, while two other suspects remain on the run, authorities said. Kevin Dias, 33, was arrested during a traffic stop in Mascotte, Florida, Waterbury police said Wednesday, July 9. Ángel Chumpi Rios was reported missing around 3 p.m. after entering the water at Mountain Pond, police said. Missing Wallingford Motorcyclist Found Dead After Plunge Down Oxford Embankment A missing 24-year-old Connecticut man was found dead at the bottom of a deep embankment, where he had crashed his motorcycle, authorities said. Robert David Connolly Jr., of Wallingford, was found shortly before 5 p.m. on Tuesday, July 8, off of Guntown Road in Oxford, Connecticut State Police said.
