Leandra's Law: Child Was In Car When Drunk Driver Crashed In Capital Region, Police Say An alleged drunk driver is facing charges after reportedly crashing her car in the region with a young child inside, authorities said. Troopers in Rensselaer County were called just before 7 p.m. Thursday, April 13, with reports of a single-car crash in Hoosick Falls on Ball Street, according to New York State Police. When they arrived, they determined that the driver, 45-year-old Helen Benn, of Rensselaer, was not injured. Seen Him? Alert Issued For Capital Region Man Missing Nearly 2 Weeks Police are asking for the community’s help in locating a man from the region who has been missing for nearly two weeks. Schenectady County resident Ryan Liszewski, age 53, of the village of Scotia, was last seen on Saturday, April 8 in Schenectady near Erie Boulevard and Green Street, according to police. Liszewski is described as a white male, 5-feet-6-inches tall and 150 pounds, with blue eyes. He has trouble walking and may be in need of medical attention, police said. 'Hardworking, Compassionate': Police Department In Capital Region Mourns Officer's Sudden Death Colleagues and loved ones are mourning the sudden death of a veteran police officer from the region. Watervliet Police Sgt. Marc Langlais died unexpectedly on Wednesday, April 19, the department announced on Facebook. An official cause of death was not given. “Marc was a beloved member of the Watervliet community and a dedicated police officer for nearly two decades,” reads the post.
