Meriden Man Sexually Assaulted Multiple Teenagers: Police A 35-year-old man was arrested and charged with sexually assaulting multiple underage victims, authorities said. Winal Diaz, of Meriden, was arrested last week and charged with sexual assault on a victim 13 to 15 years old and illegal sexual contact under 16, police said. Meriden police said they began investigating Diaz on Aug. 31, 2023, and uncovered "multiple victims," officials said. Police did not disclose how he knew the victims or when the alleged attacks took place.

Trooper Injured After Car Crashes Into Cruiser On I-84 In East Hartford A Connecticut State trooper was hurt late Monday night, March 31, after a driver crashed into their cruiser, which was parked at a crash site on I-84 eastbound, officials said. The trooper was assisting with a single-car crash around 11:30 p.m. near Exit 56 in East Hartford when the incident happened. The officer had their emergency lights on and was sitting inside the cruiser, which was parked behind the disabled vehicle in the right travel lane.
