Truck Driver Flees After Southern State Crash In Hempstead Sends 2 To Hospital, Police Say A 37-year-old tractor-trailer driver is facing charges after he allegedly fled the scene following an early-morning crash on the Southern State Parkway that sent two people to the hospital. Troopers were called just before 4 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 14, with reports that a tractor-trailer had struck the Eagle Avenue overpass in Hempstead, state police said. Man Accused Of Kidnapping, Multiple Sexual Assaults At Hotel In Capital Region, Report Says A 38-year-old man is accused of kidnapping a woman and committing multiple sexual assaults at a hotel in the region, WRGB reports. Rensselaer County resident Travis Anderson, of Rotterdam, is facing a host of charges, including 18 counts of first-degree rape, 19 counts of criminal sexual act, and kidnapping, according to the Rensselaer County Sheriff’s Office. Storage Unit Squatter Nabbed For Robbery In Capital Region, Police Say A man and woman from the region are facing charges following an alleged robbery that occurred inside a storage unit where one of the suspects was illegally squatting, authorities said. State Police in Rensselaer County began investigating on Wednesday, Nov. 30, after receiving a complaint about a past robbery that had occurred at a storage unit in Troy on Hoosick Road. Missing Man's Car Found On Side Of Capital Region Road, Police Say Police are asking for the public’s help in locating a missing man from the region whose car was found abandoned on the side of the road. Rensselaer County resident David Fearnley, age 45, was last seen Wednesday, Nov. 23, in Pittstown on Tamarac Road, according to the Rensselaer County Sheriff’s Office. Albany Police began investigating Calvin Cross on Friday, Dec. 9, after receiving a tip that he had child pornography at his home on Picotte Drive, according to police.
