An elderly lonely heart from Glen Rock was “sextorted” out of $20,000 after sending compromising photos to a scammer he thought was a woman -- and was about to hand over another 20 grand when his bank mercifully refused, authorities said.
Online romance scammer Ali H. Maman, 59, of Frederick, MD (photo above), has so far eluded authorities, Glen Rock Police Chief Dean Ackermann said this week.

The man accused of murder in a triple shooting at a Toms River hookah lounge will have to stay in jail through his trial.
A judge ordered on Thursday, Feb. 22 that Eric Manzanares, 24, of Asbury Park, will remain detained in the Ocean County Jail pending his trial, county prosecutor Bradley Billhimer announced. He was charged with murder, attempted murder, aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and unlawful possession of a weapon.

A 74-year-old man from Union County remains at large in a fatal hit-and-run crash in Ocean County, authorities said.
Milciades Oviedo, of Elizabeth, was charged with knowingly leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident resulting in death on Tuesday, Oct. 25, according to Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer and Toms River Township Police Chief Mitch Little.

The gunman accused of opening fire at a Jersey Shore hookah lounge killing one person and wounding two others last month is wanted on a warrant, authorities announced.
Eric Manzanares, 22, has been charged with murder in the Aug. 27 death of Nymere Tinsley, 25, of Brick Township, at Top Tier Hookah in Toms River, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer said.

Missing Man Identified As Person Found In CT River, DA Says
A body discovered by a kayaker in the Connecticut River has been identified as that of a missing 67-year-old Western Massachusetts man, who hasn't been seen in nearly two months.
Northwestern District Attorney spokeswoman Laurie Loisel confirmed the body was that of Franklin County resident Geoffrey Arthur, of Sutherland, who was reported missing on Monday, March 29.
Arthur, who was known as “Randy,” had last been seen by his family on Sunday, March 28, said the Sunderland Police.

A body found in the Connecticut River has been identified as a college student who was reported missing last year.
The body of Wasique Hasan, age 21, of Easthampton, Massachusetts, was discovered in Hampshire County Friday, May 21, by a boater in Hadley, said the Northwestern District Attorney’s Office.
No foul play is suspected.
Hasan, who attended the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, had been reported missing by his family on Wednesday, Dec. 30, and his name was then entered into the National Crime Information Center as a missing person.

A Morris County man was drunk when he crashed into another vehicle on Route 206 and gave police a fake name to avoid being identified, authorities charged.
Eusebio I. Cordova, 43, crashed near Route 206 and Main Street in Flanders around 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Mount Olive police said.
During questioning, Cordova, of Netcong, showed signs of intoxication and subsequently failed field sobriety tests, police said.
